  Dr Marchetta has a very outdated mindset & ways of thinking & in my opinion needs to either get with the times or retire. Save yourself the pain & aggrivation and see Reschak or Hayes instead! Marchetta excised my entire salivary gland due to there being a stone in it, and I found out after the fact that it may have been possible to remove the stone and spare the gland, an option he did not discuss with me- even when I asked if I had any other options. Additionally, me having a pain level of 9-10/10 the day following a tonsilectomy was completely acceptable to him and "that's just the way things are." I'm an adult and my tonsils were so big they touched, so a larger amount of surface area was cauterized compared to a child or an adult with smaller tonsils. He had prescribed me very weak pain medication considering the situation (hycet 7.5 which is the liquid equivalent of norco 7.5) and that prior to the procedure I was still experiencing pain in my neck/jaw/throat from the salivary gland excision. His staff was extremely rude to me when I called them crying in pain wanting something stronger for pain management. In fact, I called 3 times in 24 hours and never got a call back; I had to call a 4th time and ask to stay on the line while they talked to dr, only to have them tell me there's "nothing he can do". Well, yes, he could have called in a stronger medication or an additional medication for breakthrough pain - or at least had me come in to the office to evaluate me in person before prescribing. This caused me an unnecessary trip back to the hospital, where the ER doctor couldnt believe Dr. Marchetta wouldnt give me anything stronger than hycet 7.5 immediately following surgery. FYI I am not a "drug seeker" or an addict, I actually hate hate hate taking pain meds, just not as much as I hate being at a pain level of 9! I HIGHLY recommend Dr Reschak or Dr Hayes instead. I had a massive post op infection from the gland excision surgery Dr Marchetta had done, and Dr Reschak performed emergency surgery to drain the abscess/infection. Dr Hayes was a resident at the time and was with me at the hospital through both surgeries and was nothing short of amazing. I have switched to seeing Dr Reschak but would be equally happy & willing to see Dr Hayes.
